Tip #41: Watermark Your Photos (Photoshop CS2)
By: Donna ChapmanSo you want to put your photos on the web however you don't want everyone and
his dog downloading them for free because you are trying to make a living. To do this begin by making yourself a new file for your watermarked images so they will not get confused with your originals.
On the tool pallet click and hold on the rectangle tool until it shows you the list of other tools in that category. Select Custom Shape Tool.
When this brings up a new toolbar at the top of the screen, select the arrow next to shape. From here select your copyright symbol.
Click and drag out the symbol on your photo.
Adjust the opacity level of the symbol so that it is obvious yet the photo can still be seen clearly. This will vary depending on how dark your photo is.
Flatten your layers and save your new watermarked image to it's special file. You can use this with your own logo or any solid black and white image to personalize it. Quick, Simple and protected.
