Photo Guidelines
(how / where
Hello, my name is Tedric
Garrison (Web Master and creator
of: Better Photos Tips.) I envision a website where seasoned
photographers and beginning photographers alike;
can share
their photographic excellence with the world.
To make this a reality;
we need
to set
some rules or guidelines so things look consistent.
Please read the following guidelines carefully. Note:
We do reserve the right
to refuse
any work that is not up to our photographic standard.
1. The basic requirements of all photos
submitted: 5x7 in size and 72dpi in resolution. Please
include:
Your name, name of the photo, and location where photo was
taken. We can link back to you through an email link, website
link, or both. Just let us know what you prefer.
2. You can submit a single photo, (for the monthly
Photo Contest),
on any subject (EXCEPT nudes). You can submit nine photos at
a time to create a
Photo
Gallery, but keep those photos with a
similar theme. In other words, nine nature shots is great;
but not . . three nature shots, three sports shots, and three
people shots. However . . . there is no limit on the number
of galleries you can have.
3. Keep in mind, both the contest and gallery should
represent the BEST of your BEST work. I have had people
contact the photographer directly based on what they saw on
this site, so make sure it is worthy of your name. Concerning
the photo contest, do not get discouraged if your photo is not
chosen the same month it is submitted. There have been
occasions where a photo that was not used one month was still
better than photos submitted the following month. Obviously
the more times you submit, the better your odds of being
chosen.
4. The Photo Contest does not have a physical prize as per say.
Your photo will be posted on the front page of our site for a
full month and will continue to be listed in our photo contest
section forever. This
is similar to be chosen for the cover of a magazine. To
help you let people know you are an award winning photographer
we have created an icon that indicates your award winning
status that you can place on your website for free. You can
see that icon in the
photo
contest section. The background color can
easily be changed to better fit the color scheme of your own
website.
5. The original concept behind this website was fairly simple:
"What would happen, if, rather than competing with all the
other photographers in the world . . . I could actually help
all the other photographers in the world??" My goal is to
showcase at least 200 photographers from around the world. By
linking to them, it improves their stats and customer count
and of course it would also do the same for me as well. If
you know of any other photographers that could benefit from
this mutual type of "you scratch my back and I scratch yours"
approach, then PLEASE send them our way. |

of these sections: photo
tips, photo quotes, photo links, photo contest, or photo
articles, feel free to use this

Connection or want to send several pictures at on time
(for the photo gallery or for a photoshop
tip); please burn them to a CD first, and
send to the address below. (Note:
Wal-Mart will put 12
images on a CD for less
than $3.00 if you do not have access to a CD burner of your own.)
